On behalf of the entire team at The American Express, we are excited to once again welcome the best golfers in the world to PGA WEST as the greater La Quinta area will be showcased around the world. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in January of 2021, the tournament was played without spectators and the Pro-Am element was not conducted.
As a part of this year's event, we will once again be bringing back the popular concert series on Friday, January 21st and Saturday, January 22nd as we welcome Grammy award winning artists Maroon 5 and Brad Paisley.
As we prepare for this year's concerts, we have worked closely with city officials to ensure a more enjoyable entry and exit experience for PGA WEST Members, homeowners, their guests and all tournament attendees on the concert nights. With that, please see the below items as it effects various city streets and road closures. Click Here to view Map.
- The Stadium Gate/Pete Dye Way will not be utilized for tournament entry and exit. Starting on Wednesday, January 19th through Sunday, January 23rd Pete Dye Way will be closed from 8am – 5pm to accommodate spectator foot traffic crossing between holes 10,11,17,18. If entering the Stadium Gate during those times, you will be required to turn on Oak Tree to access your residence. If departing the Stadium Gate, the same closure would apply.
- The Main Spectator Gate will be located in the construction gate entrance directly across from The Private Clubhouse.
- Please note, that in order to accommodate the heavy exit of vehicles on concert nights, the following measures will be in place:
- Starting at 3pm, on both Friday and Saturday, southbound Jefferson will be closed at the Ave. 52 roundabout and the intersection at 54th and Jefferson will be closed with vehicles unable to go southbound on PGA Blvd. In order to access the neighborhood, please utilize the gates on Madison for both Member, homeowner and guest expedited access. For guests, there will be a manned gate to issue guest passes at the Winged Foot/Weiskopf gate on Madison.
- If you have guests visiting for the concerts, please instruct them to arrive before the 3pm on 1/21 and 1/22 and enter on PGA Blvd at the various gates. If they arrive after 3pm, they will be directed to enter in off Madison.
- When departing the concerts on the evenings of 1/21 and 1/22, after 3pm all vehicles will be directed to exit out of one of the Madison Gates whether you are within the neighborhood or parked in either clubhouse parking lot. PGA Blvd will remain open Northbound only to tournament shuttle busses and emergency vehicles.
- We anticipate these closures to remain in tact until approximately 8:30pm on both nights.
- Anyone attending the golf tournament or concert will be required to wear their admission credential at ALL times. Please ensure you have this with you and displayed for tournament security to see.
- Anyone attending the golf tournament will be required to show their proof of full vaccination or valid proof of negative COVID-19 test result taken within the last 72 hours. Please be prepared to show one or the other upon arrival.
