Course & Practice Facility Update
Practice Facility & Course Maintenance UpdateIn our ongoing commitment to maintaining and elevating the conditions of your Courses and Practice Facility, we have begun two major projects to improve the conditions of the top of the tee on the Driving Range and the bottom of the # 4 fairway on the Nicklaus Private.Using a special machine called Kato, your Golf Course Superintendent Jared Stanek and his Agronomic Team have stripped and leveled the top tee on the Driving Range. This has created a much smoother and more level playing surface. To ensure the safety of our Members and to promote a quick recovery of the playing surface we have roped off the tee and created temporary parking between the main tee and #18 on the Palmer. Some of you may have noticed this same machine on the lower fairway of hole #4 on the Nicklaus Private. Golf Course Superintendent Jon Maddern and his Team are working in this area to fully repair damage sustained during the heavy storm we experienced last September. This fairway flooded and a considerable amount of silt was left behind. The Team did what they could to clean the area and overseeded as quickly as possible to get the Course reopened for Season. We are now able to take the time to remove approximately ½” of silt that was still left behind. Like the Driving Range tee, this will allow us to have better turf conditions moving forward. During this time, the tee markers have been moved just in front of the bunkers on the upper level of the fairway, on the left hand side. This hole will be played as a Par 3 temporarily. To post your score for the round during this temporary condition, please take a “Net Par” on that hole as a par 5. This is a temporary move. Once the grass has recovered, we will move the tee markers back to their proper place and remove the ropes along the cart path. We appreciate your support and understanding while we work to continue enhancing your Courses and Practice Facility. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
