PGA WEST Hosts U.S. Am Tour's Annual Western Amateur Major Championship
The U.S. Am Tour's Annual Western Amateur Major Championship at PGA WEST was held on the Pete Dye Stadium and Nicklaus Tournament Courses over the weekend of April 5-6, 2025. Over 200 Am Tour players from across the country competed for trophies, points, gift cards, and the honor of being named the 2025 Western Amateur Champion in their flight.
The "Western Am" is the largest and most coveted 36-hole Major Championship on the U.S. AM Tour, held annually in the spring at PGA WEST. Strong winds and firm greens presented a challenge on the Stadium Course during round one. Warm, calm weather on the Nicklaus Tournament Course resulted in more scoreable conditions in the second and final round. By Sunday evening, 10 Flight Champions were crowned, over 30 players qualified for the Tour's season-culminating National Championships, and another amazing Western Am at PGA WEST was in the books. US Am Tour players also proudly raised $1,700 for the First Tee Junior Program via 50/50 raffle over the weekend.
