A fitting session with Charlie is an absolute game-changer. His expert, personalized approach helps golfers of all abilities achieve peak performance on the course.

Charlie, a San Diego native, excelled as a junior golfer in high school, winning a San Diego match play tournament in 1991. Richard “Tag” Merritt, the Director of Golf at Fairbanks Ranch Country Club served as Charlie’s instructor and mentor in the golf industry. As a pioneer in the fitting industry, Tag inspired Charlie to pursue a career as a fitter.

In 1994, Charlie joined PGA WEST®, teaching golf while establishing a club fitting business. Today, with a full-time golf club fitting career that spans 25 years, he has worked with countless players and 13 champions across all major tours.

Charlie sharpened his fitting skills by watching ball flight on the range. Nowadays, he uses cutting-edge Trackman and launch monitors, giving him over multiple data points to boost players' games. Charlie stresses the importance of having clubs fitted and, with years of experience under his belt, he can make fast and effective changes to a player’s game.

As an educator on the range, Charlie helps players assess their current skill levels, identify areas for improvement, and customize their bags so they don’t end up with two clubs that do the same thing. He works closely with the entire PGA WEST® Golf Academy instructional team to ensure students receive comprehensive support in achieving their goals.
