Myer Lemon & Blood Orange Festival Menu

Meyer Lemons and Blood Oranges are close cousins in the citrus family and are considered to share unique aphrodisiac properties that evoke strong emotion because of their rich, intense flavors.
Meyer Lemons originated in China as a cross between a true lemon and a mandarin orange. Their pronounced sweet lemon flavor and rich scent make them a favorite for cooking. Meyer Lemons have a thin, fragrant skin and lower acid content than their tart cousins, and may be easily found growing in the Coachella Valley.
The Moro "Blood Orange" has a deep-crimson-to-black color accompanied by delightful sweet raspberry flavor notes. It originated in the late 18th century in Sicily but is grown extensively in California. The red color or anthocyanin is a powerful antioxidant that develops during the cool winter nighttime temperatures.
